#ThePossibilists – Fall Conferences Ahead
Labor Day and Health 2.0 are behind us and the sprint to the end of the year has begun. What events are on your conference calendar? Where are you going to exchange ideas and create opportunities for impact? Do you want to study population health in the sun?
Welcome to #ThePossibilists, our roundup of updates from our caffeinated den in Oakland and beyond. Here’s a few of the gatherings we are attending and following this fall:
OCTOBER
2018 ACEs Conference & Pediatric Symposium: Oct. 15-17, San Francisco — Center for Youth Wellness and ACEs Connection will draw a line from the call to action established by previous conferences to the problem of "access" and how to reduce children’s exposure to adversity and its traumatic effects.
Rock Health Summit: Oct. 16-17, San Francisco — Tackle health care’s most challenging problems through interactive programming at this digital health conference.
Social Innovation Summit: Los Angeles Salon: Oct. 30, Los Angeles — This “mini” Social Innovation Summit will bring together an elite group of leaders including local and national Fortune 500 Corporate Executives, Venture Capitalists, Philanthropists, Grantmakers, and Social Entrepreneurs focused on making a positive social impact.
NOVEMBER
American Public Health Association Annual Meeting: Nov. 10-14, San Diego — Join the largest annual gathering of public health professionals and a national conversation on health equity. Visit our friends from MEDICC at their booth and learn how you can study population health in the sun.
TEDMED: Nov. 14-16, Palm Springs, CA — Recognize and embrace the power of chaos and clarity in advancing science, global public health, and medical innovation across a wide range of topics.
DECEMBER
Putting Care at the Center 2018: December 5-7, Chicago, IL — This is an opportunity for innovators and advocates for healthcare delivery reform across the country — both pioneers and newcomers — to meet, network, and create a shared agenda for the emerging field of complex care.
A Healthy Cuba, Healthy World: Celebrating History, Community & Culture December 5-10, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba — Featuring interactive sessions with Cuban healthcare professionals, and opportunities to visit health service providers in local communities, as well as historic and cultural sites. Conference travel is legal under US provisions for travel to professional meetings; family members 16 and older may join you. Conference content will interest public health professionals as well as scholars and practitioners from other fields.
