JIM HICKMAN
Jim Hickman of Hickman Strategies brings nearly 30 years of federal, state, and local expertise as a policymaker, executive, and advisor to mission-driven organizations, innovators, and government agencies on strategy and implementation of health, behavioral, and social care delivery innovations.
Jim helps organizations develop and secure novel partnerships between health care delivery systems, philanthropy, technology companies, and health and human service organizations to prototype and pilot program innovations. He works with community-based service providers to transition the traditional hospital-based care model to a more connected and coordinated ecosystem focused on population health and community-based care.
Jim’s other leadership roles have included President and CEO of several hospital system foundations, and serving as CYW’s transitional CEO when its founder and CEO, Dr. Nadine Burke Harris, was named California’s first Surgeon General. He led strategic communications and advocacy campaigns for OneWorld Health (now PATH Drug Development). He has also served as the Bay Area Regional Director for Blue Cross of California Medi-Cal and held posts with the White House Working Group on Welfare Reform during the Clinton Administration.
